Missing Teeth? Here Are Your Options

If you have missing teeth you may feel self-conscious about your appearance, it may alter your speech or it may inhibit what you can eat.

Missing teeth front view

There are many benefits to replacing missing teeth, some of which are;

There are a few different ways you can replace them, here are your four options.

1. Dentures

Dentures are removable false teeth designed for comfort to function and look like your natural teeth.

They can be made to replace a single tooth or to replace a whole set of missing teeth for a long-lasting solution.

2. Bridges

Dental Bridges are false teeth that are fixed to the adjacent teeth (either side of the missing tooth).

An impression is made of the teeth and gap so the bridge fits comfortably in place. There are several types of bridges traditional, composite or removable. Your dentist will discuss these options and recommend the best choice for your situation.

3. Implants

Dental implants are a type of false teeth which are fitted onto a titanium peg and can be used in numerous ways to replace one or more missing teeth.

The titanium peg is surgically placed into the jaw for a more permanent, stable solution.

Titanium is used as it is a strong lightweight metal that is accepted by the human body.

At Green Square Dental we offer free implant consultations for people considering this option.

4. Do nothing

Of course, there is always the option to do nothing, but we have to make you aware of the possible consequences of not replacing teeth.

Your remaining teeth may move to fill the gaps of missing teeth and there is also an increased chance of infection, tooth decay and gum disease.

Which one of these options you choose may depend on which teeth and how many teeth, you have missing.

In a consultation at Green Square Dental, we will recommend which option we believe is best for your situation and also provide information on prices and funding options for you to go away and make an informed decision.
